This meant that the only way to switch between running applications was Alt-tab or the task manager.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is what is commonly refer to over the Internet as "Minimized Programs Missing". While I do not know the cause of the problem, the fix is freely available and exceedingly easy to use.&lt;br /&gt;Just download and run this script and viola!
